Earlier, I described on my Gizmos Grabowski blog about how to run Windows 8 in a virtual machine; see worldcadaccess.typepad.com/gizmos.
Later that day, I got AutoCAD 2013 (RC beta) running in 8. It works, except that running inside a virtual machine, the graphics are a bit sluggish, because 3D graphics are emulated -- no hardware drivers.
Point is, however, that AutoCAD runs in Windows 8, even if it is not on the official support list. Here's a picture; click it for the unfuzzy view. The large white icons along the right edge are generated by Windows 8, when you move the cursor over the time-date display on the status bar.
That is fake.
The cad 2013 don´t work in windows 8 CP.
It has a lot of problems with fatal errors.

You are welcome to your (wrong) opinion that the picture was faked, but you are welcome to come by my place to see AutoCAD 2013 running in Windows 8 under VirtualBox.

Is not the image that is fake. It is possivel install the autocad 2013 in the windows 8. What is false is that the same work well. It has a lot of fatal errors, what does impossivel work with him.
sory my english

Autodesk does not support AutoCAD 2013 on Windows 8. I would hate to run a CAD program rewritten for the Metro UI!

Sorry, but your last answer is useless, doesn't matter what you like or hate. Fact is, AutoCAD 2013 can be installed on Windows 8, but it doesn't work when you use it, it closes constantly, so your article is misleading/false (I would not use the word fake, however).

True Autocad 2013 working on Windows 8, but having several problems. Hope they fix them. I got it just as hobbiest, but for such an expensive program they will have to give support for Windows 8 faster than you think.

O autoCad nao funciona no windows 8.

You must edit setup.ini and add line IGNORE_FAILURE=YES in "[DOTNET4 KB...]", "[DOTNET4] and "[DOTNET4LANG]". On Build 8400 works fine.

But on start autocad shows fatal error Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000.
Has anyone an idea to solve this problem?

Did you install the .NET 2.0/3.5 feature add-on first?
Posted by: skatterbrainz | Aug 14, 2012 at 03:21 PM
Do you mean - instal .NET Framework 2.0/3.5 drivers before autocad installation?
Posted by: Mike | Aug 16, 2012 at 05:52 AM
Open the setup.ini
Search for the .net section (it begins like this: #============= DOTNET Begin ===============)
Paste "IGNORE_FAILURE=YES" without the brackets after the first voices (dotnet4kb..., dotnet4 and dotnetlang.
Setup will then work on win8.

I had the same problem and was stumped. I got a reply from Autodesk CER. They sent me to download the Maintenance update for 2013. Here is the readme http://updatesdl.autodesk.com/updates/files/AutoCAD_2013_and_AutoCAD_LT_2013_SP1.1_ENU.htm

All of a sudden I got this window when starting AutoCAD:
"AutoCAD Application has Stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I'm using v2013 on a desktop with Windows 8
I have been using the program since I got this new system in November without a hitch
Today I had to uninstalled AutoCAD and re-installed it and it worked good.
After I closed it and went to open the application again I got the MESSAGE again
This sucks - I use AutoCAD everyday for business
