Engineering News Record interviews 42-year-old Scott Unger, who recently sold his Constructware firm to Autodesk for US$46 million.
Excerpt:
We introduced Constructware at a 'computers for contractors' show, and we were laughed at. People said, "We will never run our projects over the Internet." At the time, I was also laughing because I knew they would be doing it.
It sounds to me like he is talking about A/E/C Systems 2000 show in Washington DC. He fails to mention that many Internet-oriented CAD-related firms sprung up at the time, and that most went to the Great 404 in the Sky, not laughing.
