Microsoft has released two lists of software programs that have problems with its newly released Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. The lists are here and here, along with suggestions on how to solve the problems. One solution not listed is: don't use Windows XP, and don't downgrade to SP2 :> (My computers run Windows 2000 SP2.)
Update
The CAD programs listed are (and here I'm quoting Microsoft):
AutoCAD 2000, 2002, 2004
Needed to browse projects using FTP viewer (File Open dialog) when remote FTP host has Windows Firewall enabled.
May behave differently after you install Windows XP SP2.
TurboCAD Professional 9
May behave differently after you install Windows XP SP2.
The most likely reason AutoCAD was only listed is that we work closely with Microsoft and they actually use AutoCAD in their testing labs which test the Service Packs and Operating Systems.
All in all the Windows XP SP2 has posed no real issues for AutoCAD.

Anytime an FTP Client is used, a Firewall of any sort will interfer with the FTP transfer. Norton is one of these Firewalls that do what they are suppose to do. I will live with that.
You're asking for problems if you allow access by other than known and TRUSTED SITES.
