i feel comforted to find someone with the same problem, but the solution didn't help for me...
The thing I do notice though is that the capslock indicator on the statusbar (i use the xandros easy mode) is rapidly flashing.

Any other clue? external keyboards give the same.
Furthermore the touchpad stopped working for no apparent reason. external mouse works.

Help! i've got the same problem. I have to constantly press shift or all the letters are capitalized.

i've already reinstalled the xandros, tried eeebuntu, took off the battery,..

i have a eee 900A with xandros,

thank you!

I found the permanent solution to this problem: Install Linux Mint.

This problem happened for me starting yesterday with Easy Peasy 1 on an Eee PC 901. The above got the caps lock to reset, then I used the tip here to disable it:

http://www.peterbe.com/Disable-Caps-Lock-in-Linux

I guess I need to try updating Easy Peasy to see if it will fix this issue.

Weird thing is my trackpad also refused to work until I rebooted several times, and now it is fine.

I'll be darned. I was about to trash the darned netbook; your solution fixed it. THANK YOU!!!

Another solution is to install another version of Linux, such as
Jolicloud
or the netbook version of
Ubuntu.
