I've done this and still the Keyboard is Off, I belive the only responsive key is X, but it return lots more than just the x, is there another option prior to service, I got mine from E-bay so all warranties are off

I since found another solution: install a different version of Linux, such as Linux Mint. This solves both keyboard problems.
