HP Fixes for Free, Part II

After a couple of weeks, my daughter's Compaq V2000-series notebook computer was UPS'ed back to us from HP's repair facility.

Inside was the same worn notebook computer, which had most of its innards replaced:

-- new motherboard.
-- new heatsink.
-- and new power supply.

The enclosed sheet noted that HP was able to replicate the problem (melting of the AC adapter's power tip).

On the one hand, my daughter was a little disappointed to not get a brand-new notebook computer; but only a little. She was relieved that the hard drive stayed intact, and that she didn't need to spend the time reinstalling software and other files.

Good work, HP!
