Those of us who speculate over the goings on in the CAD world had long wondered why Autodesk was MIA when it came to acquiring a CAM software vendor. This was a large hole in its product offerings.
Part of the problem may have been that there are so many commpanies Autodesk could choose from, for the CAM market is greaty fragmented by dozens of small vendors. The CAM market certainly does not suffer from oligopoly problem.
HSMworks is in Denmark, Autodesk will keep selling its software, and will add the technology into its mech software -- Inentor is mot mentioned specifically by name, but that could just be an oversight in the tersely=worded press release.
