Litigation Item

The Associated Press reports that Acacia Research got Bentley Systems to sign a license agreement for patents related to CDs and DVDs with content containing links to the Internet. The two had been battling it out in the Texas courts.

If Acacia got Bentley to fold, will other software vendors be targeted next? In any case, the patent covers technology I would have thought is obvious -- but perhaps not to a patent examiner.
