Sold!
& Buys RAND

Private equity firm Ampersand Ventures is acquiring Rand Worldwide for about CDN$43 million, paying a 50% premium over the current share price.

Rand had been loosing money and selling off subsidiaries in Europe. This Canadian company is primarily a CAD reseller and trainer, of which Imaginit Technologies is its best-known subsidiary -- one of the largest AutoCAD dealers in the world.

Ampersand also has holdings in Moldflow and Agile.
