It Must Hurt!
PMTC Loses $0.5B in Market Cap

The bad news from PTC -- which had been on the up, up, up -- is sending its share price down, down, down.

The share price dropped by US$4.62 from yesterday's close on heavy trading, loosing some $530 million in market capitalization -- a drop of 21% at time of writing.

On average, 1.5 million PTC shares are traded daily; so far, 13 million have changed hands, as some investors are of the opinion that PMTC has a poor future, while others seize the opportunity to buy cheap.

Publicly-owned CAD vendors have been promising higher and higher profits (Autodesk claims it'll do 15% more a year for the next five years), so any slowdown will have this kind of reaction on the stock price.
