Adobe Must Acquire SpaceClaim
For all those anonymous whingers complaining about my SpaceClaim coverage, chew on this: AECnews.com editor Randall Newton insists that Adobe must immediately acquire SpaceClaim. His rationale:
It makes perfect sense that someone who needs to receive models in a 3D PDF but who doesn’t already use CAD would turn to SpaceClaim to edit the geometry.
He expects the acquisition to be announced an industry event scheduled for mid-April.
You're right CSVEN 3D pdf v7 contained tesselated (polygon) data only. Acrobat V8 due out shortly contains the 3D B-REP model also.

Maybe something's happened since Adobe first came out with their 3D-capable PDF, but wasn't that thing effectively doing my applications like OGLE does: ripping the tesselated data out of the screen information? Sure seemed that way when I read into what they were actually doing.
Clarification on this or a pointer elsewhere would be appreciated. Thanks.
