Acad08 Blog Coverage
Trails Off -- Too Soon

I've monitoring the blogosphere's coverage of AutoCAD 2008, and it appears to have died off too soon. (I monitor it through Google Blogs daily alerts and TenLink.com daily e-newsletter.)

Yesterday there was just a single entry in both alert services, and today: None. Yet the software won't be available for another week.

It could also be the source or list of feeds you are using.

I am not required to post anything on the product nor is anyone else that I am aware of. Blogs are cyclical depending on when people have time to write and post something as it is not a job for most bloggers unlike a newsletter or a writer that is writing all the time as their main task.

If you look at Technorati you will see it is like watching the stock market go up and down and back up throughout the course of a week, and basing a trend on a very small window may not be a good data point or be anything to draw a conclusion on. I know I have quite a few things to post but just have not had the free time to write them. I am sure the same is true of many people. Also as the number of people get the product there should be more and more activity. Currently it is mostly press, customers that participated in the beta, resellers, ADN members, and Autodesk employees.
