slash.dot comments on ADSK vs ODA

slash.dotters are commenting on Autodesk's law suit against the Open Design Alliance, but most of the commentary is uninformed: Autodesk Suing to Keep Format Closed.

What may be of interest to Autodesk marketing is that of all the discussion on modern 3D CAD software, Inventor is never mentioned (at last as of 8:45am). Instead, Catia, Pro/E, and SolidWorks are mentioned.

Comments

Some of them don't have a clear idea of what CAD is in the first place. But I guess that is freedom of expression at its best.

Reading that Slashdot discussion reminds me why it's probably not a good idea for CAD experts to write legal opinions. (Not that looking like a fool ever stopped me before...)
