Apple PC: VectorWorks, Too

Nemetschek North America updates all its VectorWorks v12.5 CAD software to be "universal": runs natively on Intel and Power PC-based Macintosh computers. Some operations run up to 12x faster on with the Quad Xeon 3.0 GHz over the Dual G4 500 MHz. Could one expect that from specs alone?

Quad is 2x as many CPUs as Dual.
3GHz is 6x faster than a 500MHz.
= 12x faster.

Other improvements to v12.5 include:
* PDF import and export of layer files, including batch export.
* support for Google Earth KML files.
* opening and saving files is 5x-30x faster on network servers.

Free downloads for existing users of VectorWorks Designer, Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Machine Design, Fundamentals, and RenderWorks.
