How Will Buzz Reverse the Dip?
Over the last year, total Inventor shipments have been declining. As gleaned from documents posted publicly by Autodesk, the shipment numbers have fallen by more than 60% over the last four quarters:
40,500 total seats (12,000 commercial)
37,300 total seats (13,500 commercial)
29,100 total seats (10,000 commercial)
14,900 total seats (9,700 commercial)
(total seats = education + commercial)
This last quarter was the lowest for total Inventor shipments in just over two years, since Autodesk began making the numbers public in Q2 of FY05 (xlation: May-July of 2004). Details here [XLS file].
Total Inventor shipments is 592,600 as of the end of July.
