Autodesk Chairman's Most Important Book

Business Week asked Carol Bartz (executive chairman) which book most helped her build Autodesk:

"A little book called THE CONATIVE CONNECTION, by management consultant Kathy Kolbe, has been by my side for years. It explains motivations and work styles better than anything else I've read. In any business, you have to bring out the best in people. The only way to do that is to understand them."

I have a copy of that book from some training session I took at Adesk--probably from 10 years ago. It was interesting, but hardly life-changing for me. I haven't thought about it since. Interesting that she is still enamored of the book.
