HP developed its own in-house CAD software to help it design laser printers and the like. In 2000, HP spun off its CAD division as an independent company, CoCreate. It was owned by two investment firms, Triton and 3i. This week, they sold CoCreate to HBK Investments of Texas. The price is being kept secret.

I'd be interested to hear the thinking of HBK Investments as to what they think the potential of CoCreate is, especially with regards to the competition and where CoCreate currently stands in the MCAD world. From talking with other CAD vendors, all knew CoCreate was on the market but none of them thought it worth purchasing- if not for the technology, for all those ME10 customers.

Perhaps CoCreate will finally be marketed properly in the U.S.?
I hope Think3 will be purchased as well as it suffers from the same fate as CoCreate does.
It's beyond clear to me that the best technology is not enough to win proper market share.
