Visio 2007

Is is possible for Visio to go any further? After a four-year delay, sure enough, there will be a Visio 2007. Eric Rockey (lead program manager for Visio) is enthusiastically spilling the beans at his Weblog, Visio 12 - Eric Rockey.

Some of the new features include:

- smarter themes (color schemes).
- 3D shapes that look more cartoony.
- pivot diagrams.
- AutoConnect.
- Data graphics.

Mr Rockey enthuses, I think the overriding theme ... is 'Visio is back.' Any lingering doubts people may have had about Microsoft's commitment to Visio have disappeared as everyone saw how much work we have been putting into this next release...."

How will Visio 2007 handle DWG files? Will Autodesk invite Microsoft to participate in the Real DWG program?
