Autodesk 07Q1 Seat Counts

Total AutoCAD-based Installed Base = 3,928,400
Total Inventor Installed Base = 577,700
Total Subscription Installed Base = 989,800

"AutoCAD-based" means AutoCAD plus verticals that run on AutoCAD, such as ADT and MDT (but leaves out AutoCAD LT, which would goose the number by an extra three million). From the quarterly conference call, I learned that Autodesk shipped the following number of commercial seats during Q1:

13,100 - Revit (all variants)
10,000 - Inventor
8,500 - Civil 3D

The company hopes to double in size by 2011/12, which mean earning over $3.5 billion a year by then. That's big, but not big enough to make onto the Fortune 500. More coverage in a future issue of upFront.eZine. Subscribe (free) by sending a 'subscribe upfront' message to editor @ upfrontezine.com

Kindly disregard my boneheaded question. It appears my browser cached your page and didn't show the May 19 response until after I posted and it refreshed. Weird.

Not to sound like a scratched CD (can't say 'broken record' anymore, bummer), but does Autodesk count the AutoCAD licenses bundled with Inventor Series as separate AutoCAD installations? I would expect they do, but just making sure.

Ralph, so do they count MDT twice?

MDT customer base gets tallied under Autocad based totals...plus MDT customer base gets tallied on the Inventor base total since MDT users automatically get Inventor.
