Algor Expands 64-bit Support

ALGOR announces support for the following hardware platforms:

- 64-bit Microsoft Windows
- 64-bit Linux
- 64-bit UNIX on HP, Sun, and IBM hardware.

Running on 64-bit computers allows its software to analyze larger, more complex models in less time. You can build the intial finite element model on a regular computer, and then send it to a 64-bit computer for the analysis.

Currently, however, only linear static stress analysis is optimized for 64-bit systems, but Algor hopes to expand that to all types of analysis by the end of this year: static stress and Mechanical Event Simulation with linear and nonlinear material models, linear dynamics, fatigue, steady-state and transient heat transfer, steady and unsteady fluid flow, electrostatics, piping and full multiphysics.

In the future, Algot hopes to add distributed processing to spread the analysis opver multiple computers. One day, they suggest, they'll acheive real time simulations.
