Hitched! JT Open Marries DWF

Autodesk will become a member of UGS's JT Open Program, while UGS will become an Autodesk DWF Developer partner.

The result of joining each others' programs?

* UGS will support the exchange of DWF format in all its PLM applications by expanding upon JT and PLM XML. It is claimed that 4 million people use JT Open.
* Autodesk will support the exchange of JT in its applications with a complementary expansion of DWF-based tools. It is claimed that 5 million people use DWF.

Update

After some digging, it appears both companies are not sure what the agreement fully entails. Apparently a demo will be given at Autodesk's One Team conference in early March, showing software from the two companies exchanging data with each other via DXF and JT Open.
